Assistive Technology Assessment Training

Westminster Technologies offers comprehensive assistive technology (AT) assessment training for educators, therapists, assistive technology professionals, and other members of educational teams.

Choose from live, instructor-led training through our AT Assessment Series or learn at your own pace with the on-demand AT Assessment Guide (ATAG). Both options are designed to build the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to successfully conduct AT assessments and support students throughout the assistive technology process.

AT Assessment Series — Live, Instructor-Led Training

Our AT Assessment Series is an intensive, three-day training program offered in person or remotely. Participants learn the AT assessment process from start to finish, with hands-on opportunities that include completing an actual AT assessment.

Assistive technology assessment cycle from consideration through implementation and progress monitoring

Participants receive resources and guides covering each step of the assistive technology cycle, along with six months of ongoing coaching to help build confidence and support successful implementation.

Graduate credit: One semester hour of graduate credit from Ashland University may be purchased after completing the program. The instructor must be notified in advance.

AT Assessment Guide (ATAG) — On-Demand Online Training

The Assistive Technology Assessment Guide (ATAG) is an on-demand online course designed for professionals who want the flexibility to learn the AT assessment process on their own schedule.

The course includes eight sections covering key terminology and concepts, examples of low- to high-tech assistive technology, and the five steps in the AT Cycle.

Participants receive:

  • Video instruction
  • Downloadable handouts with fillable note sections
  • Case studies and reflection questions
  • Quizzes to reinforce learning
  • Fillable PDF forms for each step of the AT assessment process
  • One year of access to the course and materials
  • One year of remote coaching support

The downloadable forms help teams move through consideration, assessment, selection, technology trials, implementation, and ongoing monitoring.
