Cosmo is a set of interactive and multi-sensory controllers (called Cosmoids) that work with the Cosmo app. Cosmo offers an ever-growing selection of activities that motivate learners to develop motor, cognitive, and communication skills through play and music. Cosmo’s multi-sensory activities work towards achieving skill-based, functional, and national curriculum compatible goals.

Cosmo Excel
Cosmo Excel is an evidence-based and award-winning interactive therapy and learning system. It is made up of two parts: (a) a set of six innovative, dynamic, and visually appealing buttons called “Cosmoids” and (b) an iPad app featuring 18 highly motivating and intuitive activities designed by teachers and occupational, physical, and speech & language therapists.
Includes:

The Cosmo Switch is a unique Bluetooth switch interface for tablets, mobile phones, and computers. It is highly responsive, making it easy to activate regardless of your motor abilities. The switch lights up in various colors, making it very engaging and providing visual feedback with every press.

RESEARCH
Cosmo’s Impact on Engagement, Communication, and Emotional Regulation
Dr. Lila Kossyvaki, a lecturer in Severe, Profound, and Multiple Learning Difficulties at the University of Birmingham, conducted a research study with Cosmo. She measured its impact on the engagement, emotional expression, and social communication of children on the autism spectrum disorder.
The research team found the following:
- A significant increase in the engagement level of the participants
- An increase in the frequency of initiating communication
- A decrease in expressing negative emotions with an increase in expressing positive emotions
