Be honest, it’s just not the kids counting down to the last day of school. You work hard all year and love your students but need time off to regroup and de-stress. When this countdown starts, all the to-do lists aren’t far behind. In addition to planning the year-end tasks, your thoughts may already turn towards the start of the next school year.

Assistive Technology Inventory Checklist

Don’t forget to complete an inventory checklist for your assistive technology and training needs. From AAC to computer access and software to training on specific devices and programs, make sure you are ready. Believe me, the dread of realizing your carefully crafted, exciting lesson won't work due to malfunctioning single-message devices just hours before.

By using our assistive technology inventory checklist to track the number of devices you have, how many are functioning, and how many are not, you’ll prevent any predictable problems.

• Will broken devices be repaired or replaced over the summer?
• Do you have enough devices?
• Did you order enough batteries?
• Will any software subscriptions expire over the summer?

This checklist makes keeping track of your inventory easy. You can track your device requirements, along with your software and training needs. This involves determining the number of staff members who have received training and those who still need it for specific technologies.
