Beamz Guides offer curricular and therapeutic protocols to enrich the experience of the user with the Beamz Laser Controller.
LIFE SKILLS LESSON PLANS
Beamz has created a collection of lesson plans that will help you differentiate your instruction across curricular areas in Life Skills, Self-contained and Transition Special Education Classrooms. Beamz is universally designed for learning so that each student can actively and meaningfully participate in curriculum tied lessons using the access method that meets their individual physical and cognitive needs. Life Skills lessons range from safety sign education to reading, writing, math, motor movement, and more. Lessons and activities can be adapted for students with more severe disabilities too, by using basic cause and effect and choice-making approaches. Going beyond instruction, Beamz is the ultimate incentive and reward tool for productivity and task completion.
Beamz Life Skills Lesson Plans include 10 core lessons, each lesson contains several activities that span across several days or even weeks.
MUSIC THERAPY PROTOCOLS
The Beamz Music Therapy Protocols comprise a collection of five “progressive” neurological-based music therapy protocols with three client intervention use levels and two “stand alone” music therapy protocols for broad client use. The protocols were developed with MusicWorx for use with the Beamz Professional Edition Interactive Music System for both individual and group sessions to accomplish a range of therapy goals, including cognitive, sensorimotor and general health and wellness. Internal interventions and evaluation tools are included in each of the protocols.
The Beamz Therapy Guide is a resource for therapists to use music making and the universally designed Beamz laser controller to serve broad client populations, providing structure and measurement tools to accomplish a range of goals. This guide includes 15 protocols providing structure for a range of cognitive, physical and social/emotional goals. “Beamz Intro” protocol provides means to introduce the Beamz tool to clients and getting them into the fun of making music. There are also 30 interactive songs paired for use with the protocols and downloadable forms, worksheets and resource references.
