Vibes Hi-Fidelity Earplugs
Vibes Hi-Fidelity Earplugs are reusable earplugs designed for sound quality that are used by individuals with sensitivity to sound, such as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injuries, ADHD, etc.
Unlike traditional earmuffs and foam earplugs that muffle sounds and isolate users from their environment, Vibes use acoustic filtering to lower the volume of the user's environment to a more comfortable level, while still allowing them to hear everything around them clearly and interact socially. Vibes' clear design makes them virtually invisible, allowing users to avoid the attention and stigma that is associated with bulky, bright colored hearing protection.
Vibes Hi-Fidelity Earplugs have been featured in publications like Autism Parenting Magazine and The Sensory Spectrum.
Each pair of Vibes includes:
• Three sizes of soft, interchangeable eartips to ensure a comfortable fit for different sized ears.
• Pocket sized carrying case.
How it works:
Vibes earplugs reduce decibels by an average of 22dB across the frequency spectrum. The Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is 15dB. The NRR accounts for outside factors like improper insertion of the earplugs into the ears, but if the best-fitting size is worn, and the earplugs are properly inserted into the ears, then the decibel reduction will be 22dB.
Vibes earplugs reduce/attenuate decibels equally across the frequency spectrum, which is what allows the sound to come through clearly. Foam earplugs and earmuffs reduce decibels unevenly across the spectrum (cutting out the just the high frequencies), which is why sound is muffled when using them.
